This role is part of a critical team of technicians and support specialists whose job is to make sure that FDM's IT estate is working.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to take this role as a Degree Apprenticeship, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree qualification after 3 years.

As part of this apprenticeship the candidate will have the opportunity to expand their work experience into other areas of IT such as Information Systems,Systems Development, Data, Cyber/IT Security, Business Organisation, and IT Project Management.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Provide 1st Line support within the EMEA region
  • Establish, build, and grow relationships with internal FDM staff through effective communication, consistency, and the provision of a professional service
  • Ensure work is carried out in line with FDM policies and practices
  • Administer password resets and account unlocks
  • Ensure IT assets are managed and audited
  • Image hardware with company operating system image
  • Installation of various user hardware across the offices
  • Create and manage user accounts incorporated within the Joiners Movers Leavers process
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and support for Windows 10 and Office 365 Suite
  • Install pre-approved applications on end point machines

Desired qualifications

112 UCAS points from A-Levels or Level 3 BTEC (including IT or Computer Science) or completion of a Level 3 IT apprenticeship (or equivalent).

Future prospects

Once qualified, the role also offers the potential to join the FDM Consultant programme, which is normally open only to University Graduates, through which they could work with FDM clients such as RBS, Shell, JPMorgan, HSBC, and NHS Digital.
