The Audit and Accounts Apprentice duties will be:

Accounts preparation:
  • Prepare analysis and make postings using the firm's accounting software
  • Produce straightforward draft financial statements in statutory format using the firm's accounting software
  • Complete disclosure checklists for companies preparing accounts under UK GAAP

  • Prepare audit planning documentation for review by the supervisor
  • Carry out internal control, system and walkthrough tests
  • Attend simple stock stakes
  • Carry out basic audit tests as part of a team in relation to other statutory or non-statutory audits and due diligence work

  • Identify basic tax adjustments arising from accounts production and audit work
  • Prepare simple corporation tax returns using the firm's taxation software

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE Grade B [Level 6] or above in English Language and maths

  • Minimum of 128 UCAS Points (based on the new UCAS Tariff), ABB grades at A level

As the role grows you will be given the responsibility of having client exposure within varied sectors while working with other members in the team.
