Permanent and Jet2holidays are looking for an Apprentice IT Project Manager to join our IT Project Office team to complete a Level 4 Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship over 15 months. This is an exciting new role where you will develop towards managing IT projects, or IT elements within larger projects, through the full lifecycle (idea, initiation, definition, build, test and live and closure). You will work to understand the lifecycle of an initial request and how it progresses through Demand to Delivery. Within delivery you will also be expected to document and manage as living documents the project plan, PID, issues, actions, risks and dependencies whilst holding necessary regular meetings to ensure each are progressed. You will work closely with key stakeholders and project team members across our organisation to ensure that IT projects are delivered to time, cost and quality.

There can be approximately 20 projects running at any one time and the role holder could have responsibility for 2-3 small - sized projects or be responsible for a specific element of a large-scale project, that are in progress concurrently. They will work closely with the business representatives from the following areas:
  • Finance and Compliance
  • HR
  • Airline Engineering
  • Airline Operations
  • Customer Services & Contact Centre

Collaborate and work with technical groups such as:
  • IT PMO
  • IT Services & Helpdesk
  • Systems Integration
  • IT Risk
  • Strategy & Architecture
  • Operations
  • Networks

While working with several external parties to deliver solutions that meet client expectations.
  • Understand the Demand lifecycle and the process followed to progress from Demand to Delivery
  • Work towards the management of workstreams and/or small change IT projects through the full lifecycle (e.g. Initiation, Requirements, Business Case, Design, Build, Test & Live)
  • Document and manage as living documents the project plan, issues, actions risks and dependencies; holding necessary regular meetings to ensure each are progressed
  • Monitoring project schedules and plans, and reporting progress to the Project Manager and/or General Manager - IT Project Office
  • Facilitate, host or run (as appropriate) workshops or presentations relevant to the progression of the project
  • Communicate the status of projects to Stakeholders and the Project Office

Desired qualifications

GCSE or equivalents in English and maths grade 4/C or above.
