A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ApprenticeQuantity Surveyor to join EYG.

Duties will include:

Assist and train in the following:
  • Prepare and submit interim applications and final account's for all contracts
  • Obtain corresponding payment certificates for all applications and ensure aninvoice is raised with the accounts department
  • Log all applications and invoices on the commercial system (CRM)
  • Liaise with the Design Office in pursuit of any potential variations to theworks, including the checking of tender drawings against contract drawings, daywork sheets and timesheets etc.
  • Calculate and issue variation pricesand obtain the necessary variation order from the client
  • Calculate commercial fitter prices for all projects using an agreed matrix
  • Calculate commercial fitter wage claims and provide cost re-conciliation foron site labour against the project budget
  • Effectively interact and attend necessary meetings with other departments andclients under supervision
  • Carry out all general "Quantity Surveying" tasks
  • Communicate to the Commercial Director via the Commercial Manager any majorproblems encountered in pursuit of monies, agreement to an application, fitterswages or in the event a matter may require contractual assistance
  • Undertake any training and development offered
  • General office duties
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Word,and Excel
  • Good level of maths and English

Desired qualifications

4 GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including maths and English.

A minimum of a Level 3/BTEC Diploma/2 ALevels (or equivalent).

Future prospects

Full training will be given in this challenging and varied role to ensure that the apprentice has the skills and expertise to become a permanent member of staff upon completion of the apprenticeship programme.
