Key Responsibilities:
  • Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills across both mechanical and electrical applications and processes whilst under the supervision of qualified staff
  • To maintain the highest standards in housekeeping, adopting a clean as you go policy
  • To demonstrate the skills and processes learned by working independently or as part of a team
  • To undertake tasks as instructed, thereby increasing the overall contribution to the engineering department
  • Learning and understanding the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace
  • To learn how to maintain workshop equipment and to keep it in good repair
  • To maintain ongoing records over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording all work which has to be assessed
  • To support with breakdowns site wide
  • To support with planned maintenance, breakdown and other engineering issues
  • To maintain and to ensure general good housekeeping in the workplace
  • Undertake a full academic and work based programme of study towards the required apprenticeship qualification

Key Role:
  • Learning mechanical and electrical engineering skills
  • Supporting qualified colleagues with the provision of a first-class engineering service site-wide

Health & Safety:
  • To adopt and follow safe working practices and procedures at all times
  • Comply fully with the requirements of the HSEQ Policy along with general arrangements detailed within associated documents
  • Take reasonable care of themselves, others and the environment that could be affected by their actions
  • Promptly reporting hazards, accidents, incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences and unsafe behavior to their supervisor

  • Compliance with agreed technical parameters and adherence to quality procedures
