What will the apprentice be doing?

Radiotherapy is a multi-disciplinary environment and you will be working alongside scientists and clinical staff to provide a responsive, high-quality patient service. Working as part of a team, your duties will include supporting the Radiotherapy Treatment Planning function, producing dosimetric treatment plans, immobilisation devices and working with dosimetric equipment. The department operates normally between 0800 and 1800 and your normal working hours will be within this.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This is a degree apprentice post which requires post holders to complete the Level 6 Healthcare Science Practitioner (Integrated Degree) Apprenticeship Standard. Attendance at the University of the West of England (Bristol) on block release will be supported in line with the academic calendar.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

During your 36 month apprenticeship you will be gaining valuable, transferable administrative skills and experiences. Upon successful completion of the accredited BSc (Hons) apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be eligible for entry on the professional register for clinical technologists (RCT).
