This is a great opportunity to begin your career in Science! Whilst working gaining valuable experience in a Laboratory you will also be working towards a foundation degree in Applied Science. There is also potential to progress on to the Laboratory Scientist at the end of this apprenticeship to obtain your BSc.
Day to day, you will be providing logistical, maintenance, materials and operational support for the execution of new or existing processes (either USP or DSP).
This is a laboratory based role supporting the execution of pilot batches whilst acquiring experience in operating equipment, maintaining facilities to quality standards and technical knowledge of USP.

Job description:
- Responsible for working positively as part of a dedicated pilot execution team following defined processes in the execution of daily tasks in operating plant equipment and associated analytical technologies
- Responsible for preparation of media and buffer solutions via written process documentation prepared in collaboration with internal team members
- Responsible for ensuring documentation is followed, all data is accurately recorded and that batch datafiles are archived
- Responsible for supporting the lab areas through inventory management of consumable and raw materials and ensuring correct standards of cleanliness and maintenance of equipment in lab areas
- Responsible for supporting the management of samples and transfer of product for shipment
- This role will be responsible for supporting the ordering and receipt of raw materials from warehouse for either USP or DSP operations

- Fluent English
- A range of simple laboratory skills
- Applies experience and common sense working to team activities assigned with a good understanding or safety requirements within a laboratory environment.
- Proficient with standard software
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work within a functional team. Able to effectively communicate through verbal and written communication across the team
Personal qualities
- Has good attention to detail, self-motivated with a positive attitude and a desire to develop and learn technically
- Developing an understanding of how the assigned duties contribute to the work of the team
Desired qualifications
A-Levels equalling 80 UCAS Points, including;
- Biology at grade 4/C or above, and another Science or Maths
Equivalent Level 3 qualifications will be considered.
