King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 13,500 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King's College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.

The department of Clinical Radiology at the PRUH is seeking to expand their team of consultants by appointing new proactive, compassionate and committed colleagues to share in the challenge of providing patient centred acute and specialist care. The department offers a broad range of sub-specialist opportunities such as the ongoing development within interventional radiology as well as specialist areas within cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal and acute radiology.

The department is looking for a substantive Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Breast Radiology.

Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) is a busy DGH and is part of King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. King's runs the South East London Breast screening from the Denmark Hill site but the PRUH site offers only a symptomatic breast imaging service.

The post is for 10 PAs per week, which includes at least 1.0 PAs for SPA time. You must be fully registered with the GMC, hold Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage. On-call commitment will be approximately 1:10, and CT scans are outsourced to a tele-radiology company from 17:00 hrs - 08:00 hrs weekdays and throughout the weekend. Weekend on calls involves 3 hours onsite DCC each day to predominantly cover acute ultrasound work.

The Princess Royal University Hospital is based in Locksbottom. These are highly sought-after locations due to its close proximity to its good primary and secondary schools. Bromley also has nationally recognised grammar schools. The thriving town centre of Bromley with retail, entertainment, gyms, restaurants, cafes and bars means that many staff live in the local area, enhancing the community spirit within the hospitals. From Bromley or Orpington, trains will take into the centre of London in 20 minutes. We are equally well located for escaping to the countryside of Kent.
