The Role: Long Description:
  • Assisting the structural engineers with design solutions and support to ensure timely and quality project outcomes
  • Supporting technicians with production of engineering design information and drawings, including using computer software
  • Contributing to planning and review meetings
  • Learning on the job under supervision, with ability to develop the confidence to work independently
  • Attend and fully participate in company activities, presentations and workshops
  • Supporting the administration of projects, and general office duties
  • Taking responsibility for aspects of your training and ongoing development and for the collection of evidence in support of this

  • Be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, with the drive and ability to work under their own direction and within a team of professionals
  • Punctual and Reliable and able to focus on the requirement of the role
  • Demonstrate the ability to work calmly under pressure and to agreed deadlines
  • To have a positive 'can do'attitude and approach to work
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently
  • Housekeeping and organisational skills are essential to ensure that high standards and the good reputation of the AMSD are upheld

Desired qualifications

  • Minimum entry requirements: maths, English Language and ICT GCSE grades 4 (A-C*) and above (or equivalent qualification) an existing
  • Level 3 qualification in a related construction specialism apprenticeship would be advantageous and might reduce the overall duration, but would not essential


Future prospects

  • Be keen to develop their own individual skills and to ensure they are fully engaged with their ongoing career and skills development
  • Potential opportunity for a permanent role within the company following successful completion of the apprenticeship
