Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Technician (XN05)

The Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust Estate's Department require a Mechanical Estates Technician who will be required to work day shift Monday to Friday based at the Chapel Allerton Hospital & Seacroft Hospital.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the maintenance, installation and repair of mechanical services, equipment, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, hot and cold water systems and drainage.

Applicants must demonstrate flexibility and initiative when dealing with a wide range of engineering services and will have experience maintaining equipment as part of a planned preventative maintenance system.

Applicants must have served a Mechanical engineering apprenticeship and demonstrable equivalent experience. Previous experience in a Hospital maintenance environment is desirable.

The successful candidate will have good communication skills to work with various levels of staff across the Trust and be expected to carry out all duties in an efficient and effective manner.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.

Please ensure your application is submitted with referees who can verify your employment/education history over the last three years and include valid email addresses for them. LTHT will request electronic Factual Employment References from your previous employers. These references will be requested before you are issued with an unconditional offer of employment letter.

Please note that a car parking permit or space cannot be guaranteed.
