We have an exciting opportunity for a 6 month secondment as a Clinical Educator and Placement Lead within the Professional Education Team. We are seeking expressions of interest from a highly motivated, forward thinking NMC registrant who is passionate about education and supporting students to join us.

The Clinical Educator and Placement Lead has a strategic focus on building a workforce fit for the future and promoting the Trust as a future employer to all learners. You will work closely with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) / Training Providers, our Partner Trusts and Service Managers and Clinical Leads to increase the nursing supply through undergraduate nursing degree courses, and reduce attrition from training, and support further development of additional entry routes through the nursing associate qualification and apprenticeships in line with the Interim NHS People Plan.

The Clinical Educator and Placement Lead will lead on the quality of the clinical learning environment for all learners by providing support, educational input and development activities for all learners and the staff supporting them within all clinical areas within the Trust (Nursing and Allied Health Professionals) and for all pre and post registration education. You will support the Service Managers and Clinical Leads in each service directorate by providing a level of expert advice and support to all those involved with learners in their area.

You will promote and sustain the development of a learning culture where both education and lifelong learning are seen as integral to clinical practice. The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning environment and positively contribute to the development of a workforce that meets the demand of health and care services.

You will lead on all clinical placements for the Trust and will work collaboratively with the Trust's Professional Education Manager. With an emphasis on increasing clinical placement activity you will be expected to use your initiative, influencing, analytical skills and judgement. The post holder will work autonomously to identified objectives.

The post holder will work collaboratively with and support the Student Placement Coordinator and Future Talent Advisor to develop new and existing clinical placements within CCS, ensuring a quality learning environment learners of all clinical professions.

The ability to travel across the trust is essential, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability where pandemic circumstances allow.

You will need to have obtained support from your line manager to be released as soon as possible after successful interview and appointment.

This payment will be deducted from their first month's salary unless a longer pay back period is agreed with the appointing manager. This will not apply to successful applicants who are registered with the DBS Update Service and in possession of the disclosure certificate, for whom an online status check will be undertaken.
