Main Responsibilities

Performance Measures:
  • WMS support and development...to modify, enhance or adapt the existing WMS setup to integrate new features and improvements
  • The role holder actively provides guidance and clear direction on all WMS matters, acts as a point of reference to the operation & logistics team
  • The maintenance, setup, and support of all WMS hardware including RDT's and workstations
  • The writing of WMS documentation and operational training manuals as well as new user WMS setup, training, and support
  • Produce documentation and statistics to meet specified deadlines that accurately monitor and review results in line with site requirements. Ensure that the results are briefed to all relevant team members
  • Working with the management team, develop and create comprehensive reports as and when required for the operation
  • To carry out any other tasks as directed, that are consistent with both training and experience
  • Troubleshooting any WMS issues and undertake projects for development of the system
  • All WMS Users are clear in how the system works and what is required of them in terms of using the system to complete their respective job function
  • Conducting regular asset audits and health checks
  • Configuration of all new equipment
  • Designing training programs and workshops for staff
  • Collecting and interpreting data, analysing results, Identifying patterns and trends in data sets. Defining new data collection and analysis processes
  • Using Crystal reports and the WMS embedded iReports to extract or report requested information

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Must be highly analytical, comfortable interrogating data, ideally with exceptional levels of numeracy
  • The ability to manage your workload and identify 'Operationally Crucial' issues and requirements, acting on them immediately
  • Ability to adhere to schedules and deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills are required as is the ability to work on your own initiative
  • The role holder will be able to confidently demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills which encourage accurate record keeping
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills required
  • Strong decision-making skills and be able to interact with personnel at all levels of the organisation
  • Comfortable recommending change to Management


Personal qualities

  • The role holder must be IT literate and an expert in using Warehouse Management Systems
  • The core of this role requires daily working on WMS
  • Experience analysing the data and reporting back on the findings to the wider business
  • Expert at using MS Excel package
  • The role holder must be proficient with SQL, Crystal reports & iReports and an understanding of relational databases
  • Desirable - Super user of Blue Yonder WMS (JDA Red Prairie)


Desired qualifications

  • Will be educated to 'A' level or equivalent (College Diploma - e.g. BTEC or NVQ)
  • Functional Skills Level 2 Maths & English - (Unless exempt)
  • Maths or I.T. at'A' Level
  • Or equivalents


Future prospects

  • Possible full time position


Things to consider

This role may require extended working hours to deliver urgent reports at key times of the year.

Own transport required as route is not supported by public transport.
