Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your technical skills. You will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading a range of technologies essential to the running of the company. This will include maintaining services and responding to support requests, as well as the development of new systems and services.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
  • Configure new starters equipment
  • Maintain an asset register
  • Configure and manage security policies through 3rd party software
  • New starter technical induction training
  • Client Software upgrades
  • Database management
  • O365 and SharePoint management
  • FTP Site Management
  • Maintain Active Directory
  • Maintain all technical documentation
  • Manage and maintain Hyper V and Fast desk services
  • Deliver department KPI's
  • Project Support (PVMS, Scanning Bureau, Hosted Services, Issues with GDS)
  • Network management
  • Working with clients to maintain connection to the Government Digital Service (GDS)

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Desirable - Proficient in Active Directory
  • Managing a virtual infrastructure
  • Ability to learn and test new technologies and integrate with existing systems
  • Experience of following IT Security Policy
  • An understanding of the principles of Networking (DNS/DHCP/Firewalls/Routing)
  • O365 Administration
  • Microsoft OS proficient
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, displaying attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to swap between multiple projects and tasks, at short notice and with tight timescales, whilst maintaining and delivering to expectations

  • Self-motivated and looking for a challenge
  • Ability to work on your own, whilst maintaining contact and integration with the wider Client teams and key business functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all departments and all levels of the business, internally and externally, adapting your style and approach as required
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations, managing expectations and maintaining excellent communications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, whilst prioritising tasks and activities
  • Ability to manage the expectations of the management team and Clients
  • Ability to communicate with the wider business, Suppliers and Clients, whilst avoiding over technical language
  • Driven to deliver results

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths).
