The Role:

If you are looking to progress your mental health career pathway, the mental health wards at Prospect Park Hospital can offer you a great environment that will enable you to develop your skills & confidence.

There are shift options available across the site, within acute adult, older adult, place of safety and the PICU, consisting of short days (7.5hrs), long days (12hrs) & nights (10.75hrs) to give you options that support an improved work life balance.

With your clinical experience we are looking for someone that has a passion for caring, great communication skills and the resilience to help enhance our patient's lives. You will be working alongside a wide range of multi-disciplinary professionals, all striving to achieve positive outcomes for services users.


To apply for this post, you will need:
  • A minimum of 6 months Mental Health work as a Health Care Assistant gained in the UK at a Private or NHS hospital.
  • Have worked in a UK Prison as a Health Care Assistant Or Have Care Home experience gained within the last 2 years.
  • All Health Care Assistants must either be a Student Nurse or have attained a level 2 (or above) NVQ, QCF, BTEC or an Apprenticeship Diploma in Health and Social Care Post 2011 or hold a Care Certificate from an NHS Organisation.
  • If you are Currently studying Adult Mental Health Nursing (as a Student Nurse) you will need to have completed a minimum of 12 weeks clinical placement.
  • Experience of working within a mental health hospital or mental health care home setting.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • An ability to maintain a high standard of record keeping.
  • Be able to work as an independent practitioner.
  • Be proficient in the delivery of care to patients.
  • Undertake regular mandatory training.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
