The responsibilities include:
Generating engaging written content, you'll be promoting all aspects of Via's business and maintaining Via's positive reputation through online and offline channels to our external and internal audiences. This stretches across both the private and public sectors.
You'll also be dealing with broadcast, print and online media at both a regional and industry level, providing responses to media enquiries, organising opportunities and photo-calls, along with creating press releases and pitching them to media outlets.
As part of a small PR and Marketing team, you'll also work in partnership to generate multimedia content to share across Via's social media and digital channels.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of Via's PR activity is also a key part of the role and we'll want you to suggest how we can improve based on these insights.
Requirements and prospects
As the role is primarily generating word-led content, strong written skills are needed, as is the ability to form constructive relationships with immediate colleagues and key stakeholder in other teams and partner organisations.
We're looking for a confident communicator who can work effectively and personably with people at all levels.
You'll have a sense for finding and developing newsworthy content and a high attention to detail is a must in this role.
A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade C/4 or equivalent are required and you'll need to hold level 2 English and maths functional skills qualifications or have the ability to study to achieve this level upon completion of the apprenticeship.
All of our apprentices are recruited on to a permanent contract from day one, so once you're finished training, you'll transition to a role within our Marketing Team.
