North Middlesex University Hospital is one of London's busiest acute hospitals, serving more than 350,000 people living in Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.

We are an integrated provider with a full range of adult, elderly and children's services across medical and surgical disciplines including community 0-19 yr old services in Enfield. Our specialist services include stroke, HIV/AIDS, cardiology, haematology, diabetes, fertility and orthopaedics. Our sickle cell and thalassaemia department is nationally recognised as a leading centre for these diseases. Every day, on average, we see 500 patients in A&E; 15 babies are born in our maternity unit; about 450 inpatients are cared for on our wards; about 50 patients have major or minor surgery in one of our 10 operating theatres; and about 800 people attend our outpatients clinics.

As an Apprentice Health Care Support Worker you will be a vital member of our team supporting our registered nurses to deliver high standards of care consistently and with compassion, empathy, respect and dignity.

We expect all our staff to be competent in their roles and therefore we commit to providing you with a high level of training to ensure you have the skills you need to achieve.

Please note:

Candidates should not hold a qualification such as an NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care to be eligible to undertake an apprenticeship. Care Certification does not constitute this and can be held by candidates wishing to undertake an apprenticeship. Note that part of this process will be for candidate to complete an assessment on the day.

If you are unable to provide evidence of yourMaths and English GCSE's, Functional Skills or Adult Numeracy and Literacy Certificates, you will be required to complete a Basic Skills Assessment prior to interview, as per the Apprenticeship Training Provider's requirements.

The assessment will be done using an online resource called BKSB Live. You will be sent your login details 48 hours prior to the Recruitment Event.

The Assessment typically takes around an hour to complete (30 mins for Maths and 30 mins for English), please take your time when completing the assessments as your outcome score will determine if you will be invited to the next stage of recruitment.
