The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, and keen to lean, in return you will be provided with a supportive environment to learn and develop the skills required to become a competent Construction Site Civil Engineering professional.

You will assist the construction and engineering teams with setting out and other site duties, whilst ensuring that all relevant Company Specific Procedures and Policies are met, in accordance with the Integrated Business Management System.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Set up survey equipment as directed by the Engineer
  • Maintain survey equipment as directed by the Engineer
  • Maintain accurate records and diary
  • Carry out basic setting out duties (upon receipt of training)
  • Initiates permits and generally implements safe systems (upon receipt of familiarisation/training)
  • Communicate and liaise with subcontract staff and operatives in accordance with overall duties
  • Implementing Quality Assurance Records
  • Assist in the management of construction processes and quality on site

  • Understand the principles and responsibilities-imposed law and other regulations in a construction environment
  • Understand the sustainability issues in projects across economic, social, and environmental aspects
  • Understand engineering techniques, procedures and methods and the principles of design
  • Understand management principles and the project management lifecycle
  • Understand the importance of project planning and resourcing and be able to analyse different techniques
  • Able to define the quality required on a finished construction project
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan

  • Positive attitude/motivated/enthusiastic & reliable/ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT Skills (Including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to see tasks through to completion
  • Ability to maintain high standards while meeting strict deadlines
  • Analytical mind-set


Desired qualifications

  • Level 3 qualifications must include maths and Physical Science
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A*-C (9-4) including maths, English & science (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)
