On 1st February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals became part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust - a truly once-in a generation development. Together, we are taking our first steps towards our vision of creating a brand-new centre of excellence, which will be the global leader in the research into and treatment of heart and lung disease in patients from pre-birth to old age. We are developing some exciting plans and we want you to join us - so come and help to change the shape of healthcare for our heart and lung patients world-wide.

We are passionate about what we do and the patients we serve. We are an equal opportunities employer and our patients are rich in diversity. We recruit to ensure we build a similarly diverse mix across our workforce. We are a values led organisation and we are rightly proud of our world class reputation and our people. The CQC visited the trust in October 2018 and our Surgical Directorate was rated as outstanding. Our priority is to deliver excellent patient care and we are proud that the CQC has recognised our services and awarded us this rating.

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced nurse to join Juniper ward as the Senior Sister. Juniper is 20 bedded private patient ward that includes 4 high dependency beds. The ward cares for transplant, cardiology, thoracic and cardiac surgical patients. The high dependency area cares for patients with a range of conditions requiring interventions such as, inotropic support, central venous and arterial lines, LVADs, non-invasive ventilation and temporary pacing.

We are looking for a Senior Sister with excellent leadership and communication skills. The role will involve providing strong leadership, effective team management and staff development. You will act as a professional role model to your team in delivering the highest standards in patient care. The candidate must have substantial experience in cardiothoracic nursing, including critical care, and have proven evidence of self-development and innovation. We are able offer a wide range of opportunities and training to support personal development needs.

As an experienced nurse you will be working at the leading edge of cardiothoracic practice in a fast-paced ward setting. If you are looking to develop your career in cardiothoracic nursing, this is your chance to join a friendly and supportive team at Harefield Hospital.

We highly recommend an informal visit before attending interview. Please contact Cardiothoracic Matrons Sara Collingridge or Naomi Phillips on 01895 823737 ext. 85108 or email [email protected] , [email protected]
