King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 13,500 staff based across 5 main sites in South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local hospital services across its different sites, and specialist services from King's College Hospital (KCH) sites at Denmark Hill in Camberwell and at the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) site in the London Borough of Bromley.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic orthoptist to join our friendly team in this busy eye clinic.

This is a 12 month, full-time contract to cover a secondment. In addition to clinical duties, the post holder will contribute to teaching and developing practice, they will be supported through learning opportunities and CPD.

The successful applicant will join a team of 10 orthoptists, 4 optometrists, and 2 photographers working alongside 11 consultant ophthalmologists. The post holder will work collaboratively to deliver a range of services including paediatrics, community clinics, neuro-ophthalmology, ocular motility and strabismus.

The Ophthalmology department at King's is large, covering 4 major hospital sites across South East London. We serve a dynamic, diverse and vibrant local population. In addition, we also receive a large number of tertiary referrals for our specialist services (including glaucoma, medical and surgical retina, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, paediatrics, anterior segment, uveitis and oculo-plastics). We are also involved in retinal research trials.
