Are you seeking a new role in Orthotics, based in a beautiful area of the country?

We are seeking a part time, 22.50 hours per week, Senior Orthotist to join our community based Orthotics service at an exciting time as we develop relationships with two new Orthotic product providers. Dorset Healthcare are establishing an 'in-house service' and this is a unique opportunity to develop and shape a brand new service model. We would actively encourage your input and ideas for service development, new ways of working, and service delivery.

Our community based service is based near to Poole Hospital and provides outpatient clinics in several sites across the county. At our main site we have a large clinic room for patient assessment and care delivery, alongside a small workshop within the department.

Working within the 'Specialist Services' area of Dorset Healthcare, you will have regular contact with other key teams and professionals to enable you to effectively manage your orthotic patient pathways; having close links to the Podiatry team, Physiotherapy, Diabetes and MSK services as well as the Community Pain services.

As a Senior Orthotist you will work closely with the Orthotic Service Manager to shape the service and seek innovative ways of working; especially pertinent during the current recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, to offer a digitally enabled services to patients.

As a CQC rated 'Outstanding' Community and Mental Health Trust, Dorset Healthcare supports its staff in many ways and you will find there is much to be gained from working directly for an NHS provider, such as access to lease car programmes, pension schemes and education funds.

Applicants will be a HCPC registered Allied Health Professional and hold a BSc or equivalent UK recognised qualification in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Candidates should have a broad range of experience at Band 6 level or already be working at a Band 7 role. The position requires a valid UK driving licence and use of a car as you will need to travel between community hospitals.

The successful applicant must also display a confident approach to all clinical situations, be well organised, an excellent communicator at all levels and must display an enthusiastic approach to all aspects of the role and a keen commitment to CPD.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
