The Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician training program at MFT gives students the opportunity to rotate through all specialist areas giving a breadth of knowledge and understanding designed to enhance the learning experience.

We are looking to recruit two highly motivated and enthusiastic Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs) to join our friendly team and complete our exceptional training programme. The successful candidates will complete the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.

You will work across a number of sites within the Trust, including Oxford Road Campus, Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford Hospital. PTPTs will rotate through a range of specialisms with the support of and guidance of experienced teams in order that you will gain the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviors associated with working in a progressive department.

PTPTs will be enrolled with a local Further Education Provider to undertake taught learning, alongside training within the workplace. PTPTs will be allocated study time within the workplace to support timely completion of the training, but will be required to complete study in your own time .

The position is for a 24-month, fixed term contract (commencing September 2021) full time (37.5 hours per week). PTPTs will support the Pharmacy service by working a seven-day week, which will include extended hours and bank holidays as per the departmental rota. PTPT Apprentices will be paid at Band 4 Annex 21.

Applicants must:
  • be self-motivated, organised, have good communication skills, be able to study and learn simultaneously, able to manage multiple deadlines and be patient focused individuals.
  • hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent grade C or above, including English Language, Mathematics and two Science subjects - one of which must be Chemistry (Dual Science is accepted).
  • ideally have good understanding of the role of a Pharmacy Technician, previous experience of working in a pharmacy would be beneficial although not essential.

Learners must complete year one successfully in order to progress to the second academic year.

Successful completion of the training programme will provide the entry criteria for registration as a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

  • GCSE or equivalent certificates and photographic I.D. will need to be verified prior to the interview in order to progress with the recruitment process.
  • Copies must be uploaded in advance of confirmation of any interview offer. If shortlisted, you will receive an email address to which all certificates and ID must be sent along with further information about the interview process.
  • Interviews will take place on Tuesday 10th August 2021 and will be held remotely using a video conferencing tool. Candidates must be able to access the interview via this route.

Applicants must be able to commence in post September 2021.
