Kingscroft Short Break Service are looking for an enthusiastic senior support worker, to support adults with Learning disabilities.

Applicants should have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, be enthusiastic, an effective communicator, have high standards, and be sensitive to the needs of people with learning disabilities.

NVQ level 3 in health and social care or equivalent training required. A willingness to work flexible including varied shifts, weekends, nights - our full-time hours are 37.5 per week.

We are looking for enthusiastic and caring people who would like to work as Health Care Support Workers across Surrey and Borders Hospitals, community and social care services.

In this vital care support role, you will develop professional healthcare experience and be part of the nursing team working hands-on in a social care environment to help care for people who have a range of diverse and mental health problems or learning disabilities.

Summary of day to day responsibility - (Job Description for further information)

  • Support people using our services in line with their individual care plan to promote as much independence as possible

  • To assist with all aspects of personal care (supporting continence needs, showering, bathing etc.) in accordance with individual's support needs.

  • Participate in the ongoing monitoring of the health (mental and physical) and behaviour of people using the service. We support a number of people with health needs such as complex epilepsy and PEG feeds.

  • Reporting and recording all relevant information and reporting to senior staff any changes in the person.

  • There is an amount of manual handling involved including assisting people with walking, sitting and other activities of daily living and by means of wheelchairs and mechanical aids within recommended guidelines.

We want to grow our nursing workforce by providing a nursing career pathway that will enable you to receive the required training to progress further in your career. You will be required to complete the care certificate training as this will provide you with the nursing skills and knowledge required to provide good quality care and clinical support

The Trust offers the opportunity for staff to apply for additional training including Apprentice Standard qualifications such as Nurse degree and Nursing Associate Apprenticeships, subject to meeting the entry level requirements.

Please note that all salaries shown are based on whole time of 37.5 hours per week for non-medical roles and 40 hours per week for medical roles, part time roles are pro-rated accordingly.
