Working 37.5 hours a week, you will join the team at Farmfield Hospital, which is a large purpose-built medium-secure service with good facilities. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will provide care and support for adult men 18+ with a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and behaviours that challenge.

You will have previous experience from a placement at the NHS and/or private sector as you work alongside the Senior and Lead Occupational in managing a designated caseload.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will complete assessments using the Model of Human Occupation (MoHo) framework as you implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities, which are aligned to service users care plans, empowering their recovery.

You'll contribute to risk assessments, provide supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings, where you will represent the department as you give feedback on service users' progress.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals.

To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Have a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Have an RCOT membership (desirable)
  • Have experience in working in a mental health environment, either as a qualified OT or from student placements
  • Ideally have forensic experience. Although it is not mandatory, you must have an understanding of the role and expectations
