Applications are invited from therapy radiographers who would like to develop their career in a forward thinking, award winning and technically advanced radiotherapy department at The James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.

Our focus is to continually improve patients' experiences and outcomes and you will be supported by a friendly, committed multi-disciplinary team of staff striving to ensure the delivery of excellence in all aspects of patient care.

We work between two sites within the hospital, having expanded the department following the build of The Endeavour Unit, an award winning state of the art radiotherapy facility.

The department is currently equipped with 5 Elekta Agility machines with IGRT/IMRT capability, which provides scope for our expanding technological and professional development including DIBH with SGRT, stereoscopic 2D imaging, stereotactic body radiotherapy, VMAT treatment delivery and flattening filter free technology.

Pre-treatment imaging consists of Siemens and Toshiba wide bore CT scanners with associated ProSoma virtual simulation software. We have an active brachytherapy service, treating a variety of sites using our Nucletron remote after-loading brachytherapy unit and a Superficial Unit.

Treatment plans are produced using Monaco & Raystation. Mosaiq is currently used for electronic data transfer throughout the radiotherapy department.

We are a forward thinking department and support radiographers in their clinical development to advanced practitioner level and we have recently appointed our first Consultant Radiographer.

Our radiographers are fully involved in the MDT approach to developments within the department. The department has a major commitment to evidence based practice, and participates in multi-centre clinical research trials, led by our Radiotherapy Research Team. On-going professional development is supported and encouraged.

Successful applicants will be highly motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be based on the treatment floor.

Please note this vacancy will close when sufficient applications have been received.
