Assistant Facilities Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for Two Assistant Facilities Managers. One will based at the Birmingham Children's Hospital & one at the Birmingham Women's Hospital.

These new positions have been created to strengthen the existing management team in the delivery of Facilities services for Vital Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

Working alongside experienced people managers, the post holder will have full people management responsibilities and will be supported and expected to gain either (depending on existing qualifications) a Level 6 BA (Hons) Business Management Professional bachelors degree or a Level 7 MBA through apprenticeship programs.

These posts create a fantastic opportunity to gain substantial people management experience of large blue collar workforces as well as project management experience of department wide improvement projects while gaining highly desirable academic qualifications.

The core operational focus of these roles will be to enhance the management of self delivered services such as cleaning and portering. This is more challenging than it sounds and will require rigorous analytical thinking, supreme organisational skills, charisma and tenacity. This is a real opportunity to future proof your career by gaining management experience in a challenging environment on which all healthcare services depend.
