Spire Nottingham Hospital has a unique opportunity for an experienced clinical senior nurse to lead their own clinical team, whilst playing a pivotal role in the ongoing development and further expansion of clinical services at Spire Nottingham. Managing our 22 bedded inpatient ward and our 9 bedded Day Surgery unit, you will be responsible for the line management of a team of registered, unregistered nurses and learners giving you exposure to both inpatient and day case patient pathways. Spire Nottingham has recently opened a 5 bedded Critical Care Unit, which will enable you to work closely with the Critical Care and Surgical Teams.

Joining a forward thinking, committed, enthusiastic, patient centred team you will play a lead role with the opening of additional inpatient beds to facilitate the continued growth of our clinical services, whilst making a positive difference to our patients lives through outstanding personalised care.

You will also have the opportunity to support the training and development of nurse apprentices, and as head of your department you will be supported in your role by a team of Deputy Sisters. You will be offered a bespoke induction which will include planned time spent with your peers and the Senior Management Team. This senior nursing role requires you to predominately work Monday to Friday core hours with an expectation that you can support a ward on call and duty manager rota.

Our state of the art, purpose built hospital located in Tollerton, has 42 private ensuite rooms, 4 theatres including a hybrid theatre, a minor ops suite in Outpatients, 9 day case beds, endoscopy suite, on-site MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound and mammography, physiotherapy, pharmacy and 300 free car parking spaces.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Manage the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of planned care for patients
  • Display effective management of clinical teams, in a safe and caring environment, in the most efficient and clinically effective way
  • Develop own knowledge and practice and assist others to continually professionally develop
  • Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practices
  • Develop and improve services
  • Support the Director of Clinical Services in the overall management of the healthcare environment.

Who we're looking for:
  • Registered Nurse with NMC registration
  • Extensive surgical experience
  • Experience within a managerial position leading a large clinical team
  • Evidence of substantial post-registration continual professional development in management and other clinically related and relevant subjects
