Lexia Education Services, are looking for a Graduate Teaching Assistant, to work with young learners with a wide range of needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties, Asperges, Autism and Complex Needs. The hours are 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday.
A Graduate Teaching Assistant role is perfect for an enthusiastic, driven and creative candidate with previous experience of working with children or adults with additional needs. All pupils within the school have a statement of special educational needs, and the role will involve encouraging the positive emotional, social and academic development of children.
Essential skills include relationship building, the ability to engage young people, de-escalate challenging behaviours and support with classroom based activities and tasks.
This is a full-time and long term role starting on the 2nd September 2021 - for the full academic year.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you must:
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have experience of supporting young people
- Be resilient, patient and kind
- Be comfortable working with challenging behaviour and be confident using de-escalation techniques with the young people
- Safeguarding training within the last year (this can be provided)
