What is the Raytheon Cyber Academy?
The Cyber Academy is a training programme designed to create a new generation of Cyber Security Technicians, who will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to secure Cyber Security related employment. It is available for individual applicants and nominations from businesses wishing to upskill staff into Cyber Security roles.

- Windows security
- Information assurance
- Network security
- Cloud security
- Mobile and wireless security
- Social engineering
Two certifications from CompTIA (A+ and Network+) and a 12 month subscription to ITProTV.
Who can Apply?
The Cyber Academy is suitable for motivated and committed applicants, who aspire to a career in the UK Tech Sector. A keen interest in, or desire to learn about programming, computing and technology is essential. Applicants will also need to be prepared to meet the demands of a rigorous study programme.
We welcome delegates who reside in the Greater Manchester andLancashirearea from all backgrounds. Examples of profiles who may wish to apply include:
- Parents and Care-givers
- Those returning to employment with some prior IT experience
- Those engaged with IT as a hobby
- First line IT technicians
- IT Graduates struggling to secure employment
- Former IT Apprentices
This will provideopportunities for all groups of people who don't currently have access to these digital opportunities including BAME communities, unemployed or underemployed individuals, women and ex-armed forces personnel.

Requirements and prospects Desired skills
- Organised with the ability to pay attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and able to work well as part of a team or on your own
You will have an enthusiasm for technology, and a desire to start a career within the cyber security industry.Desired qualifications
- Must have at least 5 GCSE's at grade C/4 or above (incl. maths & English)
- A level in a digital/IT technology subject
- Level 3 BTEC or Apprenticeship in an IT based subject
The Cyber Security Apprenticeship lasts for24 monthsand requires dedication and passion from its apprentices.Once you have completed the programme you will go on to become one of the UK's highly skilled Cyber Security Professionals.
This is a busy, diverse role, one day you are working alone and another supporting a lively team of colleagues.
You will be given all the training you need by a team of truly passionate experts at our dedicated training centres, but you need to be just as passionate as we are about the connected world and technology for the future. Days can be long and hard, but the rewards are that, for all your effort you are helping to bring the world closer together and be a safer place to be.Things to consider
