Job Details

Day to day responsibilities will include:
  • To complete a programme of on-the-job training in the manufacturing workshop, supply chain and assembly environments
  • To undertake further/higher education in either electrical or mechanical disciplines on a day release
  • To embrace and play a pro-active role in SPS systems and activities and support improvement projects
  • To play an active role in maintaining appropriate 5S standards
  • To work in a safe manner showing due regard for own and others safety in line with Schneider Electric policies
  • Adherence to Schneider Electric processes and procedures in all aspects of work
  • To assist in the training and development of others as appropriate
  • To provide instruction and advice commensurate with training completed
  • To communicate and liaise with other functions

This role is not as a site electrician.

Overtime working as required meeting the needs of the business upon attainment of appropriate age.

As part of the learning process Site working, along with visits to other Schneider plants may occasionally be required. These will be under supervision.

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Demonstrate an interest in the engineering discipline
  • To be IT literate and familiar with Microsoft Office or equivalent software
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately to high standards
  • Aptitude for practical science or engineering skills
  • The ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills

  • Manual dexterity
  • To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines
  • To be able to prioritize workload and work under own initiative
  • High level of flexibility and dependability
  • Highly motivated

  • Fluent verbal and written English lanuage is essential


Desired qualifications

The Level 4 Apprenticeship (HNC) is a progression route for someone who has completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Engineering, or has achieved a minimum of 90 credits in a Level 3 BTEC in Engineering. All applicants must have achieved a Level 2 or GCSE in Maths and English.

Future prospects

For an apprentice who shows commitment and a willingness to learn a full-time position will be offered upon completion.
