Duties

Supporting the general office and human resources function. Duties to include -
• Engaging with people face-to-face, on phone and online.
• Document creation & processing - using multiple IT applications.
• Manage diaries
• Filing
• Sorting post -incoming and outgoing.
• Other relevant duties as required.
• Meet and greet visitors.
• Arrange and service in-office catering, teas and coffees.
• Ordering office supplies

It operates hotels including The Royal Oak, The Waterloo Hotel & Lodge, and Stables Lodge. It is a key employer both within Conwy County and the North Wales tourism industry.

The role of Administration Assistant has been created to work as part of the central business team in Betws-y-Coed. As the business continues to grow and long-term plans to expand operations are put into action, the successful candidate would be joining us at a really exciting time. Duties will include general tasks associated with the smooth running of the office but human resources will be one of the more significant features of the role. There will be the opportunity to enrol onto an administration apprenticeship upon recruitment and a professional qualification in human resources in the future.

Skills

• Has a genuine interest in human resources
• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• Proficiency in main IT office applications.
• Preferably someone with previous admin experience.
• Enjoys engaging with people.
• Is a confident communicator.
• Relishes a challenge and enjoys working in a busy environment.
• Good organisation skills
• Will fully engage on learning programmes.
• Will be flexible to work after normal working hours (occasionally).
• Will maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

Maths and English at Grade C or above. Minimum of 5 GCSE's.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
