Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprentice

 

 

Employer Description: 
Matravers Engineering specialise in the design and fabrication of steel moulds for use by major precast concrete manufacturers and many of the main building and civil engineering companies within the construction industry, Including Bylor at Hinkley Point C. 

  • Salary:  £214.50 weekly 
  • 39 Paid Hours per week
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday between 08.00am to 16.30pm


Overview of role: 
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. You will work alongside experienced staff to gain knowledge, skills and qualifications in all aspects of steel fabrication and welding.

 

 

Vacancy Description: 
You will be working as a Welder / Fabricator for Matravers Engineering and your main duties will be:
• Welding using MIG and TIG processes
• Cutting
• Drilling
• Grinding
• Plus all other disciplines with a fabrication shop


Qualifications required: 
5 GCSE's at C or above. Level 2 Maths and English must be achieved prior to or during the apprenticeship.

Skills required: 
• Good level of verbal and written English and strong numeracy skills
• Confident communication skills
• Logical thinker
• Practical with good problem solving skills


Personal Qualities: 
• Keen and eager to learn
• Self motivated
• Diligent and have commitment
• Interested in technology/engineering practices


Future prospects: 
Subject to successful completion of the Apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity to progress onto a qualified Welder/Fabricator position within the company.

Starting rate subject to age and experience. 

Please note that Matravers is based in a rural location, and therefore applicants will need to give consideration to transportation when applying. Applicants will preferably have own transport and hold a driving license. 

Possibility of overtime available.
