Graduate Building Surveyor

Our client is a building design consultancy practice specialising in Chartered Surveying, Project Management, Principal Designer Services and Education Funding. They operate Nationally throughout the UK within in the Health-care, Education, Housing, Retail, Commercial and Blue Light Sectors. They offer a wide range of professional services to our clients.

Our client offers a flexible and a relaxed working environment, along with a competitive salary package commensurate with experience. The company also offers a discretionary bonus scheme linked to performance of the business, and employees will be included within the company pension scheme (following a qualifying period). A company mobile phone/laptop and a car allowance will also be provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: GBP25,000.00 PA + Bonus Scheme. OTE: GBP30,000 - GBP45,000

Graduate Building Surveyor - Qualifications

Must hold a degree level qualification within a RICS accredited degree course or equivalent conversion qualification.
Working towards Chartered Status within the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). Full support and training will be provided throughout the APC Process.
Minimum 1 Year Post Qualification Experience (PQE).Graduate Building Surveyor - Essential Criteria

A willingness to undertake local and UK wide business development initiatives and travel and increase development of the building consultancy service delivered from our Office.
Proactive self-starter with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing.
High level of attention to detail and an enquiring mind.
The ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure that deadlines are met.
The ability to produce clear and concise written reports and recommendations.
A keen team member with the ability to accept responsibility and work on their own initiative.
Good client relationship skills.
A good working knowledge of IT is essential, in particular with Microsoft Office packages, Excel and AutoCAD.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
Experience undertaking building surveys and schedules of condition.
Experience in the design and refurbishment of existing buildings and the Contract Administration role.
Knowledge of Planning and Building Regulations.
Defect Analysis - Have the ability to analyse and identify disrepair in a building, prepare reports explaining the defects and explain the rectification measures.
Experience in Health and Safety procedures (CDM).
Experience in Specification writing and putting together Tender Documentation
