As part of one of the fastest-growing companies in the CAD/CAM industry, you will work alongside a team of Geometry Modeling andSoftware experts in an environment that is both exciting, challenging and rewarding. You will help contribute towards architecture and engineering software used by hundreds of thousands of people every day.

Responsibilities include:
  • Spend 20% of your time on formal off-the-job training
  • Collaborate with teams of talented engineers to assist in requirements capture, to plan, prototype, design, develop and test delivering features within cloud-based, web and desktop components
  • Assist in aspects of CI/CD, test automation and computer network infrastructure support
  • Work as part of a scrum team that embraces the principles and values of Agile software development
  • Gain an understanding of user level workflows for a number of Autodesk applications and provide insights for consideration in the product lifecycle
  • Proactive involvement in understanding software processes/practices utilised within teams and assist in improvements
  • Work with other teams on initiatives to promote greater collaborate
  • Assist in tasks that support the running of the Cambridge site

Technology that we use include:

BREP modelling, mesh modelling, JavaScript, C++17, Node, Docker, Python, AWS, Artifactory, CMake, Jenkins, Ansible.

Desired qualifications

GCSEs:GCSE Mathematics and English at grade 4/C or equivalent.

A levels: AAA from three A2 levels to include Mathematics or an equivalent Level 3 qualification in Mathematics or Computer Science.

There is also a 3 stage interview process and an aptitude test.

Future prospects

Once the degree is completed, the candidate will be promoted to a graduate-engineer grade. After a number of years of experience at Autodesk to develop a good base of technical competencies, there a number of options available for engineers. These include the engineering career track (team lead, architect) or in the management career track (Manager, Senior Manager).
