We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Reception Team. 3W Health is a 3-site Practice based in Buckinghamshire with surgeries in Wing, Whitchurch and Winslow. We are a caring and forward-thinking practice that strives to achieve an excellent standard of patient care. We have 7 GP Partners and approximately 20,000 patients.

The successful applicant will be reporting into the Practice Manager and working 15.5 hours per week, across 2 days. They will be based at Whitchurch Surgery, but will be expected to work across our 3 GP surgeries on an adhoc basis; Wing, Whitchurch & Winslow, to cover holiday/sickness absence. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience.

The post-holder will receive and assist patients and direct them to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. They will project a positive and friendly image to visitors, both in person and on the telephone. The post-holder should have previous experience of working within customer services and be able to work without supervision. In addition to general reception duties the post-holder, under the direction of the Practice Manager will undertake administrative duties as required.

Main Duties/Key Tasks

· Greet, receive and direct patients.

· Give completed prescriptions to patients, checking the name and address.

· Deal with general telephone enquiries.

· Process appointment requests by patients, both in person and over the telephone.

· Record messages for staff, including doctors and nurses.

· Record requests for home visits and repeat prescriptions.

· Record the receipt and the results of laboratory reports.

· Extract patient files for surgeries, house calls and routine enquiries.

· File paperwork in the relevant patient file.

· Register new patients.

· Process a patient's change of address.

· Retrieve patient notes, to be returned to the health authority.

· Input patient information on computer, including under templates.

· Fax and photocopy as requested.

· Be able to navigate correctly on Emis Web.

· Become trained on Docman for scanning and attaching.

· Provide cover as and when necessary for annual leave and sickness.

· Have a working knowledge of the telephone system, during and after hours.
