Be a part of a new ward that is opening at Thornford Park hospital later this year. As a Registered Psychologist, it's a great time to join this new multidisciplinary team to help shape this new service as you change lives for the better and make your mark.

The new 14-bed ward will join the existing 129 beds that provide Forensic Mental Health rehabilitation, PICU and ASD services to people who may have a history of offending, trauma, substance use or have a personality disorder and/or enduring mental health needs. The service is set in 21 acres of Berkshire countryside.

When you join Elysium at Thornford Park as a registered Psychologist, you will be working for a company that will help you to develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be.

You will help people build a brighter future as you work with the Senior Occupational Therapist and be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services across the ward.

You will be a part of a wider vibrant and enthusiastic Psychology department, which includes Clinical and Forensic Psychologists, Art Therapists, Dramatherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Assistants, Trainees and PBS Practitioners. You will provide risk assessments, psychometric assessments, individual and group interventions. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions, deliver training, provide supervision and undertake research.

As a qualified psychologist, you will have experience supporting people with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities, as you will manage a complex clinical workload, including assessments and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support collaborative working and recovery.

There's a strong emphasis on teamwork, where you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals.

This Registered Psychologist role involves:
  • Providing both long & short-term work, which includes being able to undertake clinical assessments to determine clinical needs & treatment plans
  • Providing both individual and group work
  • Maintaining monthly clinical supervision and regular line-management supervisions
  • Supporting the MDT in the development and review of care plans
  • Offering specialist clinical advice including the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care within the service
  • Contribute to audit and research as directed by the line manager
  • Provide written & verbal contributions to MDT & CPA process

What you will need:
  • British Psychological Society or a recognised training body qualification
  • Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist and Charterable status with the British Psychological Society
  • Experience in using psychological models and theories to address a range of risk and behavioural issues
