On 1st February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals became part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust - a truly once-in a generation development. Together, we are taking our first steps towards our vision of creating a brand-new centre of excellence, which will be the global leader in the research into and treatment of heart and lung disease in patients from pre-birth to old age. We are developing some exciting plans and we want you to join us - so come and help to change the shape of healthcare for our heart and lung patients world-wide.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) team at our Royal Brompton site. As part of your role you will be providing general administration support our ACHD Clinical Nurse Specialists, while also undertaking a Level 3 Business Administrator + Medical Terminology apprenticeship.

During the 15 months programme you will develop a knowledge of medical terminology and improve your administrative services.

Apprenticeships are an excellent way to develop your skills and knowledge and continue to learn while you earn and complete a recognised qualification. We will offer you continued support with workload and the time and resources you need, with 20% of the job dedicated to delivering the objectives of the course.

Apprenticeships at the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals combine the practical training in a job with study with an external training provider. Apprenticeships are developed by actual practitioners and employers so relate to the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to do that job. They are open to people of any age and are not restricted by a person's prior qualifications. At the end of your apprenticeship programme you will achieve an Apprenticeship Certificate confirming the grade of your assessment (Pass, Merit Distinction) and the potential to develop your career further at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals.

Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as word processing and IT skills. The successful applicant will be expected to effectively prioritise work and meet challenging deadlines. You will possess good keyboard skills, a confident telephone manner and have Customer Service experience.

Evidence of numeracy and literacy qualifications is essential. You will need GCSE's or Level 2 Functional Skills qualificationand will need to demonstrate an interest in Business and Administration.

You are eligible to apply for this post if you are living in England and are not taking part in full-time education, you are 16 or over and do not hold a higher qualification in the same area.
