The Assistant Nursing Practitioner will work as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and have responsibility for their own practice and behaviour. They will be allocated their own caseload of patients by the Registered Nurse and will be expected to work independently, holistically assessing patients' needs, planning and prioritising their workload and implementing evidence based care, evaluating the outcomes of care under the minimal supervision of the registered nurse.

This post also offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in caring for Level 2 patients requiring NIV in the Respiratory Support Unit and acutely ill adults on a busy respiratory ward. Experience is not essential as training and support will be provided. You will become part of a well established and experienced team who will welcome and support you through your career development.

Candidates should possess a positive and flexible approach to work, excellent communication skills and an interest in personal and ward development.

We work closely with the Practice Development Nurse to ensure that we assist you in developing new skills and are fully supported.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
