We are seeking to recruit a Business and Administration Apprentice to work within our busy Audiology Department in Boscombe, Bournemouth. This post is offered as full time ( 37.5 hours per week ).

Our team at East Dorset Audiology Service are proud of being caring, competent and compassionate, with patients at the heart of what we do. We aim to provide high quality services which improve the health, well-being and independence of the people within our community.

The main function of the Audiology Service is to provide NHS hearing aid services throughout East Dorset and we are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills to join our friendly admin team. The role includes dealing with a range of telephone queries, arranging appointments, managing patient correspondence, data inputting, problem solving and working on a busy reception desk.

In addition to dealing with patients, a key part of this role is to provide administrative support to the clinical team to enable them to run their clinics effectively.

Applicants must have competent IT and administration skills and have the ability to manage a busy workload and to work calmly under pressure. Applicants must also be able to communicate clearly and sympathetically with hearing impaired people.

You will need to be highly organised with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to delivering a customer focused service. This is a very busy department and you will be required to effectively manage multiple and diverse work streams.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Apprenticeships are a fantastic pathway to start a career as well as obtain a nationally recognised qualification.

This apprenticeship will be of great interest to those who would like to develop their administrative skills within a fast paced, changing environment.

The team can offer a friendly, kind and supportive environment to learn and work in as well as developing your skills in business administration with a dedicated mentor to support you through your apprenticeship, providing support and advice within the workplace, as well as helping you manage the balance of work and apprenticeship studies. You will be a valued member of our team, maintaining excellent working relationships through effective communication.

You are eligible to apply for this post if you are living in England and are not taking part in full-time education, you are 16 or over and do not hold a Level 4 or higher qualification in the same area.
