Working 37.5 hours a week, you work shift patterns that include working nights and weekends, 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week at The Avalon Centre in Swindon,apurpose-built neurological centre for men and women over the age of 18 years, who have an acquired brain injury and may have challenging and complex needs.
Reporting to a Registered Psychologist, you will be guided and supervised to supportand deliver prescribed behavioural programmes to service usersas they begin their recovery. You willassist the Senior Management Team in helping to create a therapeutic interventions to empower recovery.

As a Psychologist Support Worker, you will contribute to assessments, assist with running therapeutic groups and build individual rapports with people to create a safe environment to support their care plans.

Your responsibilities
  • Deliver prescribed behavioural interventions to service users.
  • Support the Senior Management Team in creating and sustaining a therapeutic culture to deliver these interventions.
  • Undertake additional assessments and therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups as directed by theConsultant Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Lead.

To be successful in this role, you'll need
  • A BPS accredited recognised degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR).
  • Be highly motivated, enthusiastic, confident in giving feedback to service users and staff.
