Berkshire Healthcare are looking for two enthusiastic and dedicated members of staff with RMN, Social Work or Occupational Therapy qualifications to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for people with limited or no previous experience of working in the community setting. We work with people aged 18 and over who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health issues; helping them to manage their illnesses and symptoms and facilitating their recovery, engaging with families and carers and other agencies.

This role would be to support more senior members of the team and work with service users with less complex needs, giving you the time and space to build skills and gain confidence in a new setting.

The successful candidates will be expected to carry a caseload of 20 - 25 people but will be closely supervised and supported. The caseload will consist of people with a variety of mental health problems but be less complex and most likely well into their recovery, allowing development of recovery based interventions which is strongly linked to evidence based practice.

The team are cohesive and supportive with many staff having specialist interests therefore being able to provide knowledge and support to colleagues, making this an invaluable learning pathway in your career.

There are numerous training opportunities offered by BHFT helping people to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of expertise of their choice.

Band 5 Rate -
  • Day Rate - £15.66 per hour
  • Night/Sat Rate - £20.35 per hour
  • Sun/Bank Holiday Rate - £25.05 per hour

Shifts/Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00

Location: Hillcroft House, Newbury

Length of Role: Starting ASAP for the next 3-6 months.

About the Job

  • The post holder will be responsible for the formulation, execution and evaluation of a care plan for a designated number of patients who may present with some complexity within a multidisciplinary team.
  • The post holder will ensure that each individual plan is developed in collaboration with the patient and informed by the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • The post holder will operate within the principles of recovery and as such support each patient to develop a Wellness Recovery Action Plan to promote empowerment and self management thus reducing dependence on Secondary Mental Health Services and enabling a planned integration into local community facilities and the discharge as part of the patient's recovery plan.

  • 1. A professional qualification, RMN, Social Work or Occupational Therapy with a passion in mental health
  • 2. A car driver
  • 3. Effective and competent interpersonal, influencing, communication, observation and reporting skills
  • 4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to analyse situations and be able to make the right decisions
