About Croydon Health Services

Croydon is a busy, exciting and diverse place to work. The borough has one of the youngest populations in London and continues to grow. Croydon Health Services cares for local people at Croydon University Hospital, Purley Memorial Hospital and in clinics and people's homes all across the borough.

We are a very close-knit and friendly organisation where everyone of our 3600 members of staff is valued. We strongly believe that our employees are our greatest asset and so through Listening into Action - our way of engaging staff - we empower everyone at any level to initiate and bring about real improvements in our care.

As a Trust, we are striving to be at the forefront for how the NHS is trying change and working in partnership with others to join up services for everyone, from the very young to the elderly.

We offer many flexible and part-time working opportunities and all of our employees can enjoy a range of staff benefits, including parking, a gym, an active health and wellbeing programme, an on-site nursery and a cycle to work scheme. We value diversity and promote equality of opportunity.

We particularly welcome applications from black, asian and minority ethnic candidates as there is an under-representation at senior level within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust.

The Pharmacy Department at Croydon University Hospital has a great reputation for providing excellent training opportunities for both Pre-registration Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

The role of the Pharmacy Technician is becoming more varied, and a range of exciting career opportunities now exist once qualified to work within various healthcare sectors including hospital, community pharmacy, prison service, Clinical Commissioning Groups and GP practices.

We are looking for enthusiastic, self- motivated and hard-working individuals to join our forward thinking pharmacy team as a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentice (PTPTs). PTPTs will complete a GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) accredited/recognised qualification leading on successful completion to meet the GPhC's requirements for professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

We are looking for individuals who are highly committed, professional, patient focused, in possession of excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to cope with the discipline of studying whilst working as part of a busy pharmacy team. In return, each successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction programme into the Trust, an opportunity to work within a friendly pharmacy department where there is a strong emphasis on training and development, guidance and support from an experienced and passionate pharmacy training team and the opportunity to develop professional skills and behaviours in order to meet the registration requirements.

There will be a requirement to participate in working late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
