An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Health Care Assistant posts to work in Kershaw older adult Ward at St Charles Hospital. You will be working as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team assessing, treating and providing person centred, recovery focused care to service users with a range of mental health conditions including dementia and other severe and enduring mental illnesses.

Kershaw Ward is a 14 bedded ward, which are based at St Charles Hospital in the Ladbroke Grove area of Kensington and Chelsea. We are seeking individuals who are friendly, hard working, compassionate and motivated with good communication skills. If you are committed to providing high quality person centred care to service users in an older adult inpatient setting, this could be the opportunity for you.

Kershaw Ward has achieved AIMS accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists which demonstrates our high standards of practice and commitment to continuous improvement.

We provide, and supervise the delivery of high standards of care to patients in accordance with up-to-date evidence based professional practice and Trust policies.

We work together as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team structure in developing and implementing assessments, treatments and recovery focused care for patients. You will receive ongoing support from your peers, nurses, clinical team leaders and other members of the MDT. You will also receive individual supervision as well as support in reflective practice groups

The post holder will be an excellent team player with an ability to facilitate collaborative working, ensuring high standards of assessment, care and treatment for patients within the ward and wider unit.

We are looking for an individual who has effective communication skills not only when engaging with services users, but also with their carers and any other professional(s) involved with the service users care.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Excellent communication skills and a caring, compassionate approach to patient care. • Motivation to drive improvement in the care of Inpatients within a mental health setting.
    • Be committed to continuous professional development and to working as part of a team.
