An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Quality Assurance Department following re-structuring of the Patient Safety and Quality Team. The department manages a range of functions which includes the Quality Assurance Surveillance Programme, the Getting It Right Frist Time Improvement Programme (GIRFT), clinical audit, NICE Guidance compliance, CQC compliance, policies and procedures, STAQC (South Tees Accreditation for Quality of Care), co-ordination and registering of external visits, CQUIN reporting and monitoring and development of the annual Quality Accounts.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced and collaborative individual to join us as a Quality Assurance and Reporting Facilitator within our Quality Surveillance Team. This new post will support the Quality Surveillance process to provide information and support to clinical and operational teams, managers and committees within the Trust's governance structure. This will be achieved through monitoring, analysis and triangulation of information collated from a wide range of sources including the national Quality Surveillance Information System (QSIS). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a forward thinking team delivering a role that offers diverse requirements across a varied portfolio.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for a self-starter, motivated to make a difference to patient care. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive can do attitude. A high degree of accuracy and attention for detail is a must.

You will share our commitment for high quality information to support the quality surveillance process. As a member of the Quality Surveillance Team you will be expected to respond promptly to urgent requests and deadlines accurately, and thrive working under pressure in a fast-moving environment.

The following knowledge and experience is required:-
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Advanced skills in the main Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good organisational skills with good time management.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
  • Experience of Programme/Project support work.

The post is based at the James Cook University Hospital and some travel may be required for meetings.

Leadership and Improvement Training

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the New and Aspiring leaders programme, and the Foundation Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. After you complete this one and a half day of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.
