Are you an experienced senior neuromusculoskeletal (NMSK) physiotherapist working at B6 or B7 equivalent and looking for exciting challenges in a new & progressive NHS GP Service delivery?
Background- the service
Bath & NE Somerset Enhanced Medical Services (BEMS+) is a local not-for-profit GP organisation that works across the Bath & North East Somerset GP community to improve patient care, through providing high quality, community based, clinical services.
The implementation of the FCP service is led by Julia Griffith (Business Director), Melanie Downs, (Advanced Practitioner) and the GP lead in MSK. They have been involved in planning, recruiting, training and integrating the FCP roles to the 6 GP Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Initially we require 1 WTE FCP per PCN.
BEMSare looking to develop their Band 7 First Contact Practitioner workforce for those with a minimum of 3 years MSK experience commensurate with FCP and advanced NMSK practice.
The Role
The Band 7 FCP job plan will include your progression through the FCP roadmap to practice. Unless you are already working at Band 7 level, you will start at the beginning of Band 7 salary (trainee FCP) and develop your FCP competencies and complete stages of the Roadmap through fully funded learning, in work time. Once you have achieved this and are able to work independently you will be promoted to a higher increment band 7 FCP. We will support a range of FCP training eg IRMER, MSc modules in injection therapy and prescribing, Advanced Practitioner Apprenticeships, mentorship and ongoing support to the successful candidates in these roles.
Your duties will involve telephone and face to face consultations and follow up. You will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis, arrange investigations eg X-ray, treatment plan options, work advice, exercise and lifestyle advice etc. You can refer to secondary care eg pain management, local physiotherapy services, social prescribing, orthopaedic care pathways etc
