Project Leader - Band 7 - fixed term contract for 12 months

About us

The Leeds Health and Care Academy is a ground-breaking collaboration of Leeds health, care and educational partners to create a single, joined up approach for learning and development for all health and care staff across the city.

The innovative model for the organisation was developed by the city of Leeds itself, in recognition that a step change was needed to tackle the workforce challenges that we see nationally, and in Leeds, and to maximise all of the opportunities that a joined-up approach could bring with it.

As part of this move towards a more integrated way of working, the Leeds Health and Care Academy is playing a vital role in the workforce roll out of the Leeds Place-Based Partnership, and facilitating a joined up approach to health and care services within the city via the flagship Hearts and Minds project. This ambitious engagement, workforce development and culture change programme is aimed at supporting and progressing city-wide, person-centred, integrated health and care in Leeds, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to help us put the building blocks in place - alongside our partners - to achieve this important goal.

The Academy is an integral part of the city's workforce pipeline and continuous development of knowledge, skills and culture. Its portfolio is designed to deliver 'system-based, transformational learning' which actively progresses the Leeds Workforce Priorities. In practice, this includes shaping new educational pathways such as T-Levels and apprenticeships, developing critical workforce skills such as leadership and digital capabilities, and, supporting mobility and career progression across organisational boundaries. Our delivery model is based around four pillars:

  • Co-design and co-deliver bespoke Leeds educational and development programmes.
  • Commission and procure shared learning and development with, and on behalf of, city partners.
  • Align and connect development opportunities across partners.
  • Initiate and deliver training and development.

  • Across all our programmes, we have the goal of reducing inequalities and optimising the Leeds pound.
