About the apprenticeship

Duties

Confident use of word & Excel & outlook including teams Working closely with all the contract managers with a quick turnaround on all requests, possible PA experience, understanding of what is required from a contract manager
Type, send & file new project quotations in Excel & exported to PDF
Maintain log of quotations
Feed new quotations into future work Pipeline
Contact clients to discuss new business
Deal with incoming emails from both Clients & Suppliers, refer to relevant department
Booking hotel accommodation if required for scaffold operatives working away from home.
Set up new project files both electronically & hard copies.
Minute meetings recorded & issued internally from daily teams meetings.
Order consumable items used within the scaffolding industry
Communication with all plant hire companies for costs & orders
Raise & distribute order number for all purchases
Update internal App with new operatives & leavers, Set up new projects, upload paperwork for project onto the app
Download & electronically file all internal documents completed by operatives via the app.
Communication with various council bodies for scaffold permits & road closures etc
Use of printer/scanner/laminator
Answer & deal with incoming calls, take messages & notes & manage messages on answerphone
Update vehicle log with changes to company fleet
Complete driving licence checks of all CASS staff & operatives every 3 months

Additional information

Rules and Expectations & AOB :

Use of personal mobile phones only at break time.

Internet for personal use only during break time.

20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (3-4 days to be saved for Christmas holidays)

SSP for any sickness

6 month probation period

Monthly pay on 15th of each month

Requirements

Skills

Understanding of the current processes within Cass.

Identify what size drawings will need to be printed by checking the scale, elevation and floor plans

General understanding of basic scaffold make ups, and scaffold terminology which will help with quotations.

Previous Experience working in an office environment

Construction industry experience

Qualifications

Minimum 5 GCSE's - Grades - A-C including Maths & English

Language

Welsh Spoken Skills: No Welsh Written Skills: No

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
