Band 3 Administrative Apprentice x 2 posts - East of England

These are fixed term roles for 18-24 months due to limited time nature of the apprenticeship funding

NHS England NHS Improvement East of England have an exciting opportunity for 2 full time Level 3 Apprentices in Business Administration to work within the Workforce and OD and Finance Directorates. The post is for a fixed term contract of 18 months but may extend to 24 months, and during that time you will gain valuable work experience and a recognised Level 3 qualificattion in Business Administration, equivalent to two A' Levels.

About the Apprenticeship

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9-5pm with some flexibility. As an apprentice, at least 20% of your contract employment hours will be spent in 'off the job' training across your whole apprenticeship. 20% does not mean one day a week out of work; examples of 'off the job' training include teaching of theory and practical traiing. You and your manager will agree how to manage this prior to commencing an apprenticeship.

Essential requirements:
  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level (e.g. English and Maths at level 4/grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Eligible to undertake an apprenticeship

Individuals must demonstrate a commitment to self-development and achievement of the apprenticeship. During your period of training as an Apprenticeship Administrator you will be assigned practice and learning mentors who will support you in the role and guide you through the training programme. Progress will be monitored by maintenance of an apprenticeship portfolio containing evidence of records of attendance at training and regular meetings with your mentor and evidence of academic achievement.

About the role

Working alongside the Directorate Business Managers, you will help to ensure the teams are able to deliver the regional priorities in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and the NHS People Plan.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and adaptable individuals to join the NHS at entry level. You will be a key part of the teams, working to enable and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve our portfolios of projects, services and initiatives.

You will need a high level of initiative and the ability to manage your own workload.

In return we will ensure that you have access to internal opportunities for development with supervision and appraisal. The recruitment process will be held online via Microsoft Teams.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all staff are currently working from home but are supplied with the relevant equipment to cover the role.
