Engineering Maintenance - Electrician - Band 4 (£21,892 to £24,157 Plus RRP (£4,000)

West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit an electrician to join a dedicated workforce team serving a General Acute Hospital.

This post requires a qualified, experienced, andconscientious person capable of working to a high standard and must be able to work with minimum supervision.

The successful candidate must have an electrical background with good all round electrical skills in a domestic and industrial field. You should have skills to calibrate and fault find on a wide range of engineering plant equipment, electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, building control & automation, standby generator plant, security access control, and nurse call systems.

It is essential the successful candidate has undergone an approved apprenticeship with a City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering and/or NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.

After suitable training the individual may be required to participate in the "emergency works" on-call rota for the hospital, therefore they must have the ability to travel and work outside of normal working hours including weekends, evenings and bank holidays. Vehicle provided with out of hours increments.

You are required to work one weekend day per month on PPM / Reactive tasks and will receive one day in lieu the following working week.

Recruitment and Retention Premia

A recruitment and retention premia (RRP) of £4,000 per annum (pro rata for part time workers) currently applies to this post. The related RRP local agreement is, at present, being reviewed by the Trust on an annual basis and therefore may be subject to changes or removal in the future.

CAR PARKING - This post does not entitle you to apply to park on the Hospital site. The Trust offer parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack.

If required to work on a weekend, the restriction does not apply. Parking is allowed on site Saturday and Sunday at a cost of £2.10.
