Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care to over 275,000 children and young people each year. In addition to the hospital site located in the West Derby area of Liverpool, Alder Hey has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients' homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park building in the nearby borough of Sefton.

We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We're also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is one of only 4 stand-alone Children's hospitals in the UK, recognised as a Centre of Excellence for children with cancer, cardiac, spinal and brain disease, providing specialist treatment for children in the UK and from around the world. The Pharmacy team is innovative, caring and compassionate and provides Pharmacy services to a wide range of paediatric surgical and medical specialties. Assistant Technical Officers play an important role within the Pharmacy department assisting and supporting the management of medicines.

We are looking to recruit THREE Pharmacy Apprentices (Assistant Technical Officer) to work alongside our friendly team of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Senior Dispensing Assistants The posts are permanent - 37.5 hours per week and the salary is Band 2 (Agenda for Change) Candidates who apply must be self-motivated, have the ability to work well under pressure whilst using their own initiative, demonstrate good attention to detail and have excellent communication and organisational skills.

They must be patient focused and passionate about upholding Trust values in order to provide the best possible service. These posts offer the candidate an opportunity to gain experience in various areas of the Pharmacy. Excellent mentors will provide a full induction and training programme. The posts are permanent - full time. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between 8.45am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday and participate in weekend, Bank Holidays and 'Late' or 'Early' rotas as necessary ***
