Job Details

Spectrum Community Health CIC are an innovative, not-for-profit social enterprise providing award-winning, high quality healthcare services across the North of England, within health & justice, sexual health services and substance misuse services.

We are seeking to increase our team of experienced GPs, who are passionate about primary care and healthcare innovation. These posts are substantive full-time or part time, and will attract all of the benefits of NHS employment including NHS pension and time served enhancements.

Previous experience working within secure environments, whilst desirable is not essential as full induction and training will be provided. More critical to this post are the alignment of values to those of the organisation and personal and professional attributes of compassionate leadership, encompassing an enthusiasm for the delivery of clinically effective, evidence based, high quality, equitable community care and a desire to innovate and support new ways of working as part of a transformative integrated provider team.

Line managed and supported by a Regional Lead GP, you will have access to continuing professional development in support of appraisal and revalidation through our GP forum. As a senior leader you will have access to a full induction and a range of ongoing professional support, coaching and development opportunities including Spectrum's own ILM accredited leadership and management programme.

In addition, there is access to specialist research and educational supervision opportunities through our Research Directorate and medical education departments.

HMP Kirklevington Grange

HMP Kirklevington Grange is an 'open' resettlement prison for Category D adult male offenders nearing the end of their sentences, who are intending to settle in the north east of England. The patient population is approximately 300. The prison's aim is to prepare men for their release and are encouraged to maintain and develop links with families and the wider community. Prisoners can in the final stages of their sentence progress to working out of the prison in full-time employment or voluntary community work. Some patients may access community primary care for continuity of care post release. Health needs within this population tend to vary dependent on age but with themes consistent with the health inequalities and social exclusion experienced by many prisoners. You will join a team of highly skilled, dedicated primary care clinicians, expert in meeting the needs of our patients in a rewarding and fulfilling job role whilst enjoy all the benefits of joining the wider Spectrum community of clinicians which offers peer support, clinical supervision, and bespoke professional development.
